Tacolicious- Book Review

As a Texas native, I’d like to think I know a thing or two about tacos. And I do, except I know a lot about Tex-Mex tacos and not so much about California Mex or honestly true Mexican tacos.

IMG_5256Colorado Mexican/tacos were good but nothing compared to what I grew up eating. Getting the Tacolicious Cook Book seemed like a natural fit for our eating style. After getting the book I realized how close we were to true Tacolicious restaurants. Like they are a hop, skip and jump away in the Bay Area.

Screen Shot 2014-10-05 at 2.55.40 PMAs much as I’d love to try some of the food in the cook book, some of it maybe too bold for me to cook on my own and I’d probably much rather go and try it in the restaurant first. However the roasted tomato-mint salsa sounds like a divine gift from above that I must try my hand at. There is everything in this cookbook: salsa, pico (aka lazy salsa), guacamole, pickled jalapeños, cocktails, infused tequila, beans, rice, corn, and on and on.

  1. Seriously, I do not think anyone makes as good a taco as Texans do! I lived in Texas for two years and got spoiled, now nothing compares! My boyfriend and I are always in search of great tacos, so I will have to check out this book!

  2. Oh I LOVE tacos. We have a couple of recipes we enjoy, but this book looks pretty darn good to me! I love trying new things!

  3. My husband LOVES tacos. We’re going to Mexico in January and where we’re staying, they have a little taco place that has tacos until like 2am or something and all he keeps talking about is that restaurant! I’ll have to check this book out.
