Oh my, I saw the most beautiful Honeycrisp apples at Trader Joe’s a few weeks ago and I knew I needed to make something extra special with them. I love fresh apples but I also love baked apple pie like apples. So I started looking at fun ways to bake apples, I took a few ideas from here and from there and created these yummy Apple Blossoms with just a few ingredients.
I prefer Honeycrisps but use whatever you like or have available to you.
ingredients:
2 tbsp butter
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 caramel candies
2 apples
Directions:
First,pre heat the oven to 375 F
Then, I like to prepare everything. Get the candies unwrapped, measure out the butter and brown sugar and have the baking dish out before I cut the apples. Once the oven has reached temperature.
Cut the apple in half, I don’t have an appleĀ corer but a metal spoon will do just fine. then using a paring knife cut a ring around where the core used to be. Then turn the apple over and make slits in the outside, to make it ‘blossom’
Microwave the butter and brown sugar for about 45 seconds, once it has melted add the flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Place the caramel in the apple where the core was and pour the brown sugar mixture over the top.
Bake uncovered for 25 is minutes or until the apple is soft.
We top our with pecans, or you can put ice cream on it.
I love making this when guests are over, it’s easy fast and doesn’t require a lot of prep.
This looks amazing!! I love your new winter header!!
And it’s SO easy! I love my winter header too, it’s making me miss Colorado a bit more than I expected, however.

I love anything that has baked and apple attached to it. I love apple crisp. MMmmm Apples!!
I’m not a big fan of cooked apples but my husband sure is. I will have to make this for him.
That is another reason to love this recipe! Just make what you need instead of a huge batch! It’s lovely! Hope he likes it!
