Of all my years this maybe my greatest. In January, I was invited to interview with Stitch Fix. I admit that I applied to the job a few times and in every available area. And prior to this Interview I interviewed for a whole realm of positions from barnes & noble to the local interior design business. My friend Stacie and I were invited to a Cocktails and Style event in Sacramento hosted by Stitch Fix before my interview. We had so much fun mingling with other stylists and fashionistas and having a night out for just the 2 of us! The following day Travis was admitted to the ER for SVT in his heart. It was a quick and effective surgery and he was home by Saturday afternoon. I had my Stitch Fix interview the next week while he was home recovering. I’ve never been so nervous in my entire life. I was extended an offer of employment the next week, started at the end of February and I’m still smitten. Not sure how many people describe themselves as smitten with their jobs but I do. 🙂

March, April and May went by without too much excitement settling into my new job, enjoying the long spring and planning for fall races. Travis bought us tickets to the U2 Concert in San Jose, and Travis’ dad joined him for the second night and to see the Giants play the Dodgers in SF at AT&T park. In June we celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary...can you believe it! And I helped with peace week at church, by far one of the most moving things I have been apart of in my life.
In July I turned 29, and spent a week in Texas being chauffeured around by my momma. We visited Hilltop, Bryan, Waco, Granbury, Midlothian, Hideaway, Tyler and Dallas. I saw my sister and brother in law, former co workers, friends, grandparents, my mother in law and best friend. While I was in Texas, Travis spent his 30th Birthday weekend in New York seeing Biggio inducted into the baseball hall of fame, walking central park and going to his 4th U2 concert of the year.
In September we ran the Run in the Redwoods 5k again near Orick, CA and then we ran the 10K at the Modesto Run & Ride the next weekend, as a prep race for the Yosemite Half Marathon we had on October 10. At the half, we ended up finishing with 15 minutes of each other and although we were very sore, it felt so amazing to accomplish something so big!
After the half, we went to the Treasure Island Music festival and saw Father John Misty, Chvrches, and The National. And Travis’ dad came and went to the Bridge Concerts with Travis.
November was our vacation month. We flew out of SFO to London and visited Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, and Paris (part 1 & part 2) for a 2 week European

vacation with the In Laws. It was such a great trip, we saw so many great examples of architecture, art, and ate some amazing food. I even met my pen pal of like 18 years in Paris and we spent the day sight seeing! Sadly, we were there during the November 13th attacks, but if people were afraid, I couldn’t tell. Security on the way out of Paris was a bit of a nightmare but what else would you expect. We had a quiet Thanksgiving just Travis and I, along with Jessica Jones thanks to Netflix being my binge watching enabler.
As, I am writing this December has just begun. It’s actually raining right now. I participated in Dressember again this year but so did my friends, Kayla and Stacie. Travis and I went to the KROQ Acoustic Christmas Concerts again this year, and we decided to go both nights for a fun weekend in LA. (not really LA is miserable but we go for the concerts) I also went on a 3 mile run/walk to celebrate the new running store in town, they rewarded me with a pancake breakfast afterwards and I was able to break in my new running shoes that we bought on black friday after I stood in line for record store day for over an hour in the cold. For Christmas I gave Travis more vinyl; he also recieved amazon credit and socks. While I got coloring books, watercolor pencils, insoles for those new running shoes, a much coveted 13.1 charm for my charm bracelet, and so much more from fabulous friends and family. Mom & Dad got me a reflective running vest, new journal, Baylor coasters, a scarf/sorung and yellow sperry topsiders.
On December 30th I cut off 8+” of hair and donated it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths which partners with the American Cancer Society, check out their website. They don’t discriminate in who can apply for a wig compared to Locks of Love.
My 2015 Resolutions:
- Run the Yosemite Half Marathon
- Travel (to anywhere outside the US)
- Get a creatively challenging job
- Cut my hair for charity
My 2015 word: Selah (pause & praise)
This year has been the year of praises! I was able to accomplish my resolutions and I feel genuinely grateful for the past year.
