Wear it Wednesday | Summer Ready Dresses

My favorite thing about summer is the ease of wearing a dress everyday for everything and being perfectly casual, chic and comfortable the entire time. Today, I’m (Adventurous Shelby) sharing my top 3 summer dress cuts for the warmer season and how to wear them!

Maxi

I love a good maxi, there are no official rules on where maxi dresses and skirts are supposed to fall. I like mine just above my foot so I can walk easily without tripping over myself. And if I want it shorter, you can always tie a knot on one side, showing off your shoes, ankle and making walking easier, especially in the sand at the beach!

A-line

This universally flattering cut is perfect for those of us with a curvy lower half, as it skims past the hips, not adding more volume. Most of these dresses look great under a blazer with heels for work or with sneakers and a cross body for a casual weekend ready look, depending on the print!

Shift

If you have a long torso and feel it’s hard to pull off an Aline because the waistline doesn’t fit right, a shift is perfect alternative for you. You can leave it flowy and loose or add a belt at YOUR waistline! It’s not essential to add anything to a shift but if you feel like you’re wearing a bag then work with a few fitted tops to even it out, like a denim jacket, blazer or belt.
