Elegantees is one of those brands that encompasses what I love about the ethical fashion movement, it provides jobs for the disenfranchised, consumers get a quality product and they ultimately make a bigger difference in the way consumers buy.
Brand: Elegantees
Country of Origin: Nepal
How they give back: Employ women previously enslaved by the Sex Trade
Products: Women’s Tops & Dresses
What to love about this brand: Sex trafficking is enslaving a human against their will to perform sexual favors while someone else makes money from it. Elegantees has joined the fight against this by helping provide a new life for those brought out of it. Our mission statement is to provide hope to survivors of sex trafficking in Nepal. A positive source of income that reinforces independence, a healthy self-image, and confidence restores lives one elegant tee at a time. (borrowed from HERE)

What I love about Elegantees: I love Elegantees, not only do they have gorgeous moderately priced pieces but the women who sew these garments were rescued from the sex trade. This job gives them dignified work and a skill set to help them support themselves and their families. Last year (2015), they partnered with Dressember and created the first ever Dressember dress the dress was made by and to raise awareness of modern day sex slavery in the world. And they are partnering up again this year! The teasers for the 3 dresses are gorgeous and I can’t wait to order mine! And they are on my wishlist, below!
What is on my wishlist:
