Random fact: most hipsters are obsessed with bicycles and bike art. They are cool, I even have bike art! But my recent transportation obsession is one I’ve never been in or rather on: hot air balloons.
When we lived in Colorado Springs there was the annual hot air balloon festival each Labor Day weekend, just a block from our house. It was worth getting up at 6 in the morning to walk over and see the balloons take off doing dips in the lake and fly off over the city.
When working on my blog design recently I remembered a gorgeous hot air balloon image I grabbed from unsplash.com and it’s now my new inspiration image. And the background on my computer.
Recently I was introduced to Starla Michelle, an Austinite and artist and I’ve fallen deeply in love with her whimsical, impressionistic style. While she usually focuses on nature, animals, and cactus the occasional hot air balloon finds its way onto her canvas.
Swoon.
Even my friend, Kayla got in on my obsession and designed a blog logo for me!
I guess the big question is: How long will it take before I get to go for a ride in one?
