National Park Series | Yosemite National Park | California

I started this series with Yosemite NP, because this park is literally in my backyard (if my backyard was all of Central California). When we first relocated to California, we were thrilled to be so close to Yosemite! Which is great except this is one of the most popular National Parks, so we tend to visit in the off season.

We first visited just after moving here, with Travis’ parents & my mom. Of course, I started with the picturesque Half Dome picture.

When my BF Kendra came to visit last September, we planned a day for us to go to Yosemite. We picked a few hikes, that looked reasonable and had a fun girls day, even though we thought we were going to die.

Then we went back the next day to see the Sequoia groves.

The best thing about Yosemite is the variety of hiking trails and things to see, go see a small Sequoia grove, see Yosemite falls, Bridal Veil Falls, visit Mirror Lake, or go to Glacier point to see Yosemite Valley from some elevation.

The great thing about Yosemite is you could easily spend a weekend or a week here and have a great time. The drive from the central valley to Yosemite is a little long for a day trip but we always manage to have a good time. I especially love the drive into the park, it’s one of the most beautiful drives I’ve ever taken.
