Settling in Colorado Springs

Well, we’ve been in our little apartment for over a week now. It’s coming together, slowly, but it is coming together. Travis is happy with his position at the hospital, and I’m slowly leaning into a life of independent contractor, homemaker, and part time Hallmark employee (who knew I could wear so many hats)!

Although actually moving is no bueno, I love the opportunities moving presents; new jobs, new places to explore, new friends to met, new places to eat. Moving before the holidays isn’t too much fun, it’s expensive to move; for the truck, the boxes, cleaning supplies, time off work packing, and so on.

As, I’ve gotten older I’ve realized that I don’t need all the little things. I want moments, time spent with people I enjoy being around and going on grand (and not so grand) adventures.

So, while I do have a note on my computer named ‘Gift Ideas for Shelby’, I guarantee you all I want this year is to make Colorado my home.
