Our 1st Colorado Snow Day

Well, after being here for 2 months we finally got a legit snow day, even if it was just one day.

We saw in the forecast we were going to be in the 50’s for 2 days then a snow day on Sunday. After reports of snow days in the forecast dissolved in the past, I wasn’t convinced they had gotten it right this time either. Then we got up on Sunday morning.

Needless to say my Texas born & raised Catahoula was beyond excited. I think he’s been looking forward to this since we moved back. Also there is nothing quiet like seeing a dog run through the snow.

And he wasn’t the only one that enjoys it. The cats were eager to have their turn outside. Since we’re on the 2nd floor, I don’t take them out to the grass, instead we let them chase snow flurries from the safety of our balcony. The best is when Shade our black cat has little snow flakes on his back and face.

I know snow isn’t for every pet. But after we got 6 inches of snow when Asher was a baby in Texas, I knew he’d always be a snow baby. The warm summers in Texas and California were never anything he enjoyed unless he was swimming in a lake.

We spent most of the day inside snuggling with tea and a blanket, when Asher went out I mostly just let him run. The back of our apartment building is pretty private and all he wants is to romp in the snow.
