Wear it Wednesday | 4 Ethical Fashion Brands you should know

Raise your hand if you’ve entered to win a giveaway on Instagram. Okay put it down, we’ve all done it and on occasion even one a few times. I entered one of these giveaways during Fashion Revolution week, as I usually do and immediately forget about it. Then I realized I had like 5 DM’s on Instagram and let’s be honest that never happens unless my sister and best friend are sending posts back and forth. I quickly found out I’d won a giveaway! My best advice for winning a giveaway on IG is to constantly enter and that’s about it, it’s all about luck.

I wanted to share with you the AMAZING pieces from the fair trade and ethically minded brands that participated in this giveaway. One of the funnest parts of winning a giveaway is enjoying pre selected pieces, I suffer from indecision, so i really appreciate when giveaway items are already selected.

2 black bags, one with cross hatches in front and one with stitched lines in the back
2 Toiletry bags

Anchal Project ANCHAL  /ON-CHAL/  NOUN
1. THE DECORATIVE EDGE OF A SARI USED TO PROVIDE COMFORT & PROTECTION TO LOVED ONES  2. SHELTER

A sister led business that empowers women in India through meaningful employment that provides for them and their families. Spending just a few minutes to click through the artisans pictures and hearing about how their jobs have benefited their lives is tear jerking. Ethical fashion should not be the exception it should be the norm.

I received 2 toiletry bags from Anchal, a small and large. The quality is AMAZING, I know I keep saying that but really I cannot wait to use them and may find non travel purposes for them. The small one I’m using as a makeup bag, the large one…I’m not sure yet would it be appropriate to carry it as a clutch?

Demi Hoop earrings on a box with black geode stone necklace

Noonday Collection

Noonday is a pioneer in the ethical fashion landscape. I have some favorite pieces by them from over the years, if you’ve never experienced Noonday I highly encourage you to meet a local ambassador. They work with artisan partners in 14 countries and empower a number of women artisans in particular.

I received a pair of the Demi hoop earrings and the Eon hand carved geode stone necklace. Neither of which I would ever pick for myself and here I am loving them and excited to wear them!

Ribbon Sandals wrapped together on top of a green drawstring bag

Sseko Designs

I’m a long time fan of Sseko Designs, not only is the work they are doing important they are working with women locally & globally. Sseko seeks to employ high achieving young women between high school and university during their 9 month gap year. By purchasing from Sseko you are helping to send a woman to university, a girl with goals, a girl with the ability to make a difference.

I won a new pair of stitched ribbon sandals! I’ve had a pair of dark brown sandals for several years, I’m so excited to break in this new pair this summer.

3 black and gold roll on bracelets

Aid through Trade

Aid through Trade works to empower Nepali women through gainful employment with a Nepal rich technique and rich history in glass beads. They are a founding member of the Fair Trade Federation. I have incredibly small wrists, so getting bracelets is always iffy for me if I didn’t try them on and y’all these fit! In fact they guarantee their roll on bracelets will fit almost any wrist size!

I received a set of 3 black and gold statement roll-on bracelets.

I love being introduced to new brands (new to me brands) that have the same values and economic goals as I do. Enjoy shopping through these links, they are not affiliate so I do not recieve any compensation for you buying through them.
