Up until 2.5 years ago, I didn’t own or wear black. I bought my first pair of black denim while as a stylist with Stitch Fix after finding myself drawn to the edgier looks they were paired with. And now, here I am with a few solid black items in my closet and becoming more and more adventurous!
While wearing black during the summer months may seem taboo, you can totally pull it off. I found myself feeling very timeless in these looks and I got a lot of attention wearing them!
Personally, the Elvira jeans from ABLE denim, which they no longer sell, may be my favorite pair of jeans. Edgy, distressed, and with a custom step hem that I added. They feel truly unique and I love how they fit. The top is the Mira from Elegantees, it fits like a fitted tank with flutter sleeves that feel barely there, together the casualness of the denim and the polishedness of the top balance each other out for a look ideal for work or a night out. I’m fairly minimalist when it comes to jewelry so this bar drop in rose gold from Starfish is perfect statement making and finishing piece.
Everyone has a little black dress, or at least I assume everyone does. No closet is complete without one! Mine is the Nora from Elegantees, again timeless is the word that comes to mind. For summer days, this dress is perfect with my Custom made Rose Gold Sseko Rue sandals and I love to layer with a button down chambray tied in the front to make it a little more casual. You’re never underdressed in a little black dress.
