Wear It Wednesday | July 4th inspired Outfits

We don’t do anything special for the 4th of July, mostly because I (and my dog and my husband) don’t like fireworks, the heat, or bugs. Also, I don’t have any overly patriotic pieces, instead I created all these looks with items already in my wardrobe that I usually wear throughout the year. I did add a new pair of earrings from Sela Designs, because I needed something new and pretty!

Look 1
White Tee + Blue Shorts+ Navy Custom Sseko Sandals + Rory earrings in Cork Waves from Sela Designs
This is probably the most practical of outfits and something I would definatly wear for the 4th of July when I lived in Texas. The peplum on this top is perfect for a more feminine whimsey inspired look without going so far as wearing a dress. I also added a red paper bead necklace from 31 Bits and I’m carrying my Balthazar & Rose Fouta, as I envision myself laying out by the pool.

Look 2
Navy Bell Sleeve Top + White Wide Leg Pants + TRC Red Flats + Rory earrings in Cork Waves from Sela Designs
I’d wear this outfit for work, smart flats in watermelon red are the perfect punch to this chic outfit and my wide leg pants keep my cool by literally allowing air to flow around me. I love the relaxed fit of this bell sleeve top from Elegantees a few summers ago, definatly an elevated basic for outfits like this one!

Look 3
Navy Maxi Dress + White Ribbons & Ribbon Sandals + Rory earrings in Cork Waves from Sela Designs
You can never go wrong with a dress and this grecian inspired maxi in navy is always a good idea! I paired it with my Sseko Ribbon sandals and white thin ribbons for a light and airy look perfect for the hot summer weather. And the statement making, super lightweight Roray Cork earrings from Sela are the perfect finishing piece to my favorite 4th inspired outfit!

What look will you be wearing this 4th of July? Whatever I end up wearing, we’ll celebrate with hamburgers on the patio and I’ll end up sleeping on the floor with the dog because of the fireworks.

Happy 4th and stay home if you can! Here the city is putting on a fireworks show from 10 locations around town and tuning it to a symphony broadcast on the radio.
