What stresses you out? Endless campaign ads on the TV, the ongoing pandemic, work stress, financial stress, your new favorite show you were bing watching is now over. The list of real life stressors is long when you aren’t in a pandemic, it’s even longer when you are 9 months in. When we need to learn to relax when we are feeling stressed, we need to learn to release our physical stress and mental stress. Today I’m sharing a few ways I have found to help me relax during this stressful year.

Beginning with my mental health, I have learned how important to stay away of social media. Social media is full of narcissists, or at least that is what I’ve heard. In fact, many psychiatrists believe social media is a huge source of anxiety and depression in young adults. Staying away from social media gives me more time to actually do things, create, write, learning to paint, photography, and household chores which oddly enough does help me relax. Another way I care for my mental health is to take some Relax CBD oil on days when I have a lot on my plate. It’s easy and helps me to start my day on the right foot. Receptra Naturals Relax Tincture contains full spectrum CBD oil from their Colorado grown family owned farm, includes only organic ingredients & flavors, and is Third-Party tested so I can feel good about what I put in my body.

It’s the Monday before one of the biggest elections of the 21st century, right or left we are all feeling some anxiety surrounding the election and the future of the nation. Apart from the election we are now in our 9th month of the COVID-19 pandemic. I think it is fair to say that our collective anxiety levels are pretty high in fact, the CDC reported in June 2020 that 41% of Adults in the US were struggling with mental health or substance abuse. So now, more than ever it is important to know how to relax.

A great way to relieve both physical & mental stress is to move your body! I know you’ve heard this before but getting out to move your body increases your blood flow while getting you away from your computer. If you don’t have 10 minutes to move your body away from your computer, then you need to spend at least 20 minutes moving your body away from your computer. During the warmer months, I would tend to my patio garden, getting my hands dirty & caring for my plants was such a great mid day refresher. Now, that it is cooler and my plants are dead or hibernating, I prefer to bundle up for a walk with Asher. After a walk, run, or bike ride I like to decompress in a warm bath with some lavender oil, epsom salt, and, when applicable, a glass of wine. Afterwards, I use the Receptra Naturals Relax CBD Body Oil, I love how this body oil soothes my skin and helps my muscles relax.

When I take care of my mental & physical health, it is easier for me to care for my spiritual well being which I find connected to my mental health. My mental wellbeing & spiritual wellbeing both benefit from screen-free time, spending time in nature, and writing out my thoughts or prayers. When I have space to relax my physical body, my mental reserves, and rest in my faith I am better able to handle unexpected daily stressors.

How are you learning to relax this far into the pandemic?
