Since I don’t run as often as I used to, pain isn’t part of my regular day. However, when I do experience pain I usually pop a few ibuprofen and hope they start working as quickly as possible. In my attempt to live a more mindfully, I have been trying to incorporate more all natural alternatives in my life. This includes how I approach my body when in pain.
Recently, during my period I was having really bad cramps. I want to preface this with the fact that I don’t usually have cramps or period pain. My monthly menstral cycle is very mild compared to others. But last month, it was a bit much. Instead of popping an ibuprofen or 3, I opted for something else instead.
First, at the onset of pain I took 1ml of Receptra Naturals Relief CBD oil and started drawing a warm bath with epsom salts and a few drops of lavender & peppermint essential oil. After a good soak, I applied the Relax CBD body oil (which I shared about here) to my stomach and while it took about 30 minutes, my corkscrew searing pain in my sides did subside, a warm purring cat on my lap also helped.
Since running the one and only half marathon under my belt, I still have foot pain and have quiet possibly ruined my arches in the process. When I ran the Yosemite Half in 2015, it was the longest distance I’d ever gone on my feet and it is the first & last time I will go that far. Thankfully, the Relief Topical CBD oil is perfect when my feet hurt, and I am guilty of wearing and owning shoes that do activate my foot pain. I appreciate Receptra’s Serious Relief + Arnica CBD Targeted topical. It is formulated to target irritated areas of your body, like my achy feet, with a blend of natural and organic ingredients that promote speedy recovery to keep me moving forward so I can continue to do hike pain free.
What areas of your body are often aggravated and painful? Adding CBD to your routine can help reduce joint pain and body aches that plague our everyday lives.
