Wear it Wednesday | Cosmic Universe Top

One of my favorite things about wearing this Cosmic Universe top from KINdom is the reactions I get from the kids at church! “Is that an astronaut on your shirt?!” “I love space, Saturn is my favorite planet!” including all the “Mrs. Shelby did you know…” about all things planetary! Women comprise 29% of the STEM workforce and 52% of the college-educated workforce (from NSF), I clearly do not work in a STEM field. But this universe inspired top lets me imagine a world with more women in STEM careers!

KINDOM uses sustainable, natural, recycled, reclaimed, and indigenous materials, fair trade-made in ethical and compliant facilities, while also offering size-inclusive & gender-inclusive fashion.

The KINDOM branding is compostable – natural cotton labels, printed with water base ink to reduce pollution to the planet, and unbleached hang tags connected by natural jute twine with a metal pin. No plastic!

Each product that comes out of factories need to be individually packed in plastic poly bags to prevent damage. The world produces between 80 billion to 150 billion garments a year alone, and that’s a lot of plastic! We refuse to add to this detrimental mayhem to the Earth, so we use a vegetable-based bioplastic to pack and store each product in. When shipping, we use recycled poly mailers made of 100% recycled content, 50% of which post-consumer waste, or existing mailers and boxes that we reuse.

Outfit 1

While black usually feels so outside my comfort zone, this Carolina Cosmic Ruffle top is a natural to pair with my Black step hem ABLE jeans and my mustard yellow The Root Collective flats. I love how this flowy top balances out these skinny jeans for a chic outfit I can wear to work or when grabbing coffee with friends!

Outfit 2

Styling this top with my wide-leg cream pants feels completely counterintuitive and yet, they bring a whole new vibe to this top! I swapped my flats for slide on sandals for unwelcome and lingering summer weather.

Outfit 3

Well, on days that summer simply refuses to leave at least I know I can wear my Carolina top with denim shorts and sneakers. Fun picnic in the park look with friends and of course Asher.

The print on this top might look familiar if you’ve been here before. That’s because I also have an adjustable length skirt from KINdom in this Cosmic Universe print, see how I styled it HERE. I’ve also been very slow to share these two amazing pieces from KINdom which I received in late May, so apologies life can be a little crazy and I had a bit of burnout over the summer.
