2023 Word of the Year

2022 was the year I embraced a lot of change and new things. We moved twice, began our term as Service Adventure Leaders, traveled to Texas, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Mexico.

In 2023, I want to cultivate the seeds already planted. Seeds for new growth, new adventures, and continuing to seek out fulfilling life paths. Cultivation means to prepare and to work on.

In thinking about my word for 2023, I kept returning to words like Bloom, Shine, Growth, and Cultivate. So, I began seeing the year ahead as a garden, I would need to till, work the ground, plan, nurture the seeds and plants already there while making room for new crops. In order to cultivate, you have to weed the garden and nourish it. I’m putting in the work and trusting in the unseen work happening below the dirt.

Things I am cultivating in 2023:

  • Gratitude
  • Opportunity to learn new skills
  • More creative opportunities
  • Healthy Boundaries
  • Adventures

What are you cultivating in the year ahead?
