Midnights Inspired Me Made Top

This post has been a long time coming...

One ride in my car will tell you I am a fan of Taylor Swift, my phone conveniently connects via bluetooth to play music which is always on a Taylor Swift playlist or the latest album, including re-recordings. When I didn't initially get a ticket to the Eras tour earlier this year, that didn't stop me from planning what I would wear if the universe granted me the opportunity to go!

After she dropped the Lavender Haze video, (the same week I dyed my hair purple, a coincidence I think not!) I fell in love with the crochet open back top made by MOTHER she wore during the last half of the video. While I am still newish to crochet, I knew I could make a version of that top that would be in no way identical.

I found a pattern online that was actually quite simple and I got to work using some reclaimed yellow cotton yarn from a previous failed tank top. While the back took a smidge more work, overall, I was thrilled with how it came out, not to mention how seductive I feel wearing it!

I didn't have a ticket for the tour until July 5. When my friend received another code from Ticketmaster for the show. I immediatly took her up on the offer and had her order me one! It was a single ticket, so even though I got to go up with people and sat in a sea of Swifts I was not alone. After getting my ticket, it felt like my whole world had changed!

I won't lie, I did go to the thrift store looking for an incredible sequin dress for the concert, but nothing fit and was as spot on as this outfit was.
