Recap & 2024 Endings

We are currently in a busy stage of life!

Christmas 2023

Christmas Dinner at our friends home.

In January, we went on a Leader Retreat for Service Adventure to rest and recharge with other leaders. We have also prayerfully decided this is our last year as leaders. As sad as it is to end, we have had 2 wonderful years mentoring young adults. We are also excited for what is next.

Earlier in 2023, we learned Huey (on the right) is Diabetic and has been on a strict diet and insulin ever since. But in December we found out Shade (on the left) has hyperthyroidism. So we have adjusted his diet and stabilized his levels to an acceptable number. We are grateful for our vet and that dietary changes can help them life a good life! They don’t look it but these boys are going on 13 in the spring!

I’ve been crocheting a lot lately. About to complete my first sweater, with super soft wool & alpaca yarn my partner bought me for Christmas in 2022. Other recent projects include: scrunchies, a new scarf/cowl, granny square bag for my mentee, and I’m about to start on my first baby blanket for my dear friend in Texas!

I am working full time, for the first time in years, and I love the wide range of tasks involved in Digital Marketing! My partner is looking for full time work as we transition away from our time as Service Adventure Leaders which has filled much of our time. While it has been a blessing for us to each take turns working full time over the last 2 years, we are moving into a new season to focus on careers we each love and thrive in.

Moving into 2024, I hope to spend a little bit more time blogging about fashion and maybe crochet, creating content again on IG & FB promoting sustainable living, and of our little life in Colorado Springs. Unfortunately, that probably won’t happen regularly until July or even August. So thanks for sticking around and comment on what you’d love to see me write about when more time allows!
